Hello there! I am a Registered Psychologist, as well as a Canadian Certified Counselor. I was born & raised in Edmonton, but have been living in Calgary for the past 6 years and love everything this gorgeous city has to offer. My favourite spot in town is Crescent Heights Lookout Point, where you can see the city skyline and the Bow River. During the summer months, most of my weekend evenings are spent strolling around the Bow River bank with my husband and toddler son. In the winter months, I enjoy spending time in Kensington coffeeshops, sipping on hot beverages with a good book in hand. Where it all began was at the University of Alberta when I was completing my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. At that time, I was volunteering with non-profit agencies supporting young offenders and inmates. There, I was inspired by the changes I was able to bring to these individuals' lives. These positive changes drove me to pursue a career as a psychologist. I graduated with a Masters in Counselling degree from City University of Seattle, which has allowed me to gain licensure as a Registered Psychologist, and continue to support individuals seeking to better their lives. My career in the mental health field for the past eight years has included providing services to children, adolescents, adults, families, and the elderly. I have enjoyed working with diverse clients in various settings, such as hospitals, private practice, and Distress Centre Calgary. I specialize in Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Parent-Child Attachment, Divorce/Separation, Returning to Work, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Self-esteem and shame resiliency. I provide counselling services for a range of other issues as well. My therapeutic approach is adjusted to meet each client’s unique needs. I draw upon a mix of evidence-based treatment, including aspects of: Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, Sandplay, Theraplay, Mindfulness, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I strive to continually add to my knowledge base and stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in the field of psychology, by regularly attending conferences, workshops, trainings, and seminars.
